OP Abseil for Charity

OP Abseil for Charity 30 June 2010

On Sunday 12th September, Graham Cooper (OP 1957) will abseil down the 100ft cliffs of the Avon Gorge in Bristol, in an official event to raise money for the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust.

The Duke of Cornwall Spinal Treatment Centre is in Salisbury District Hospital and the charity will run a number of fund-raising activities in the coming months.

Graham says, "When I was a rock climber, abseiling was a feature of the sport. I felt, therefore, I would try and use the skill obtained then to raise money for an organisation to which seriously injured climbers from the south might well have recourse". He jokes, "If you can't stomach the thought of funding a geriatric being paid to return to this intimidating climbing venue above the A4, we'll still be friends!".

If you would like to sponsor Graham for this worthy event, follow the link www.mycharitypage.com/GrahamsAbseil.

This organisation will collate the donations and forward them to the Southern Spinal Injuries Trust. You can also indicate if you would like your sponsor money to be gift-aided.
