CCF

The Perse School has always prided itself on its links with the Scouting and the Combined Cadet Forces programs run for its pupils. Old Persean Venture Scouts will remember treks up mountains with Malcolm Macfarlane and parading at the command of Ken Symons in the early 1960s. It is a testament to the pupils and all involved that these two aspects of the school are still as strong as they were when first added to the school curriculum. The Scouting group had always recruited young Prep boys as ‘Wolf Cubs’ and the option to join CCF was given when pupils joined the Upper school. Often those who were cubs in the Prep school continued on to become full Scouts in the Upper.
